In December 2021, the Power Institute hosted the 2021 iteration of the annual AAANZ Conference, alongside the Department of Art History. The theme of the conference was IMPACT.

For the first time in its history, the AAANZ21 Conference took place entirely online Рa response to the restrictions on public gatherings imposed due to the global covid-19 pandemic.  This newly virtual conference was a great success Рit was attended by around 450 people from all over Australia and the world, and presented the work of over 300 speakers across 79 panels, as well as three international keynote sessions.

Another advantage of the virtual format was that we were able to make recordings of all panels, which were then made available to all conference registrants for 3 months after the conference.

These recordings have now become part of the Power Institute’s archives.
