We are please to present a lecture by Sussan Babaie, Andrew W. Mellon Reader in the Arts of Iran and Islam at The Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London. Babaie’s lecture will explore issues of modernity in Iranian art. The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion, Chaired by Professor Mary Roberts, Art History and Nineteenth-Century Studies, University of Sydney.
We are pleased to present a lecture by Sven Lütticken, lecturer in Art and Culture, History and Antiquity at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Lütticken’s lecture will address various accounts of form, both as an abstract idea and in material shape, in the context of art history.

Saloni Mathur is Professor of Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles. During Professor Mathur’s visit to Sydney as part of the Sydney Asian Art Series, she will also be presenting a lunchtime seminar for students and other interested attendees.
